Flutist Andrew Bolotowsky studied with Elaine Schaffer, William Kincaid, and Jean-Pierre Rampal. He has performed over 3,000 solo recitals and participated in countless chamber music and orchestral concerts. A founding member of Brooklyn Baroque, he has played with the Pan American, Westchester Philharmonic, and Brooklyn Philharmonic orchestras and has worked with Downtown Music Productions, Music Downtown, the American Festival of Microtonal Music, Concert Royal, The English Concert, Soho Baroque Opera, Muse (Colonial American Music), the Delbarton Baroque Ensemble, and New Amsterdam Baroque. Mr. Bolotowsky has recorded for Naxos, CRI, Orion Recordings, Golden Age Records, Opus 1, Innova, New World, and Station Hill Records. He can be seen on the Quill Classics YouTube channel performing works by Bach, Boismortier, Cervetto, and Quantz, and also heard on the internet in Jim Theobald’s work Above Ground for Flute and Electronic Tape. Among his recordings for Quill Classics are a program of flute sonatas by Johann Ludwig Krebs and a recital of Bach’s works for flute that Fanfare called “nothing short of revelatory.” Andrew is prominently featured on Brooklyn Baroque’s Northern Lights and The Pleasures of the French, and is the soloist on Beth Anderson’s new CD, The Praying Mantis and The Bluebird (MSR Classics).
